Since you would never agree to let anyone deliberately belittle you -- or to otherwise "label you" in some disparaging way... Then why (do you) accept the presence of some negative character at large within you that can't wait -- at the drop of a hat -- to pin any kind of painful, or shameful name on you.

Negative states are never caused by events or people outside of ourselves. Events don't cause the pain we feel. It is our reactions to the events that cause the pain. Anytime we get negative it is a revelation that we walked into that moment with an unseen expectation. But the expectation is not ours; it belongs to a lower nature that has "named" the event. We think "naming events" serves us, but it only serves to perpetuate the existence of the nature that is the "knower". "You're not going to pin that on me". Dare to doubt the knower. When a part of us wants to dwell on what it doesn't like, we must die to that nature. Whatever names the pain, is the source of the pain. "You Name It, You Claim It". Refuse to go along with the nature that wants to "Identi-fixate" on what it doesn't want. Events don't have names. Drop the Name being given to us by this "knowing" nature and begin to find true freedom.
