We live from a level of consciousness that "attracts attacks" by making an enemy out of anything that does not confirm the image it has of itself. This consciousness needs people and conditions to confirm the image. Our task is to use unwanted moments in which it feels like we are being attacked to help reveal the nature that actually attracts the attack. See the part of you that has attracted the attack and then see how quickly it defends itself. Consciously suffer and surrender the part of yourself that needs to make enemies in order to generate that strong, familiar sense of self.
