Three Stories About Learning To See

Every day I wonder, "How did I get here?" (in this state) I don't know where or how I should be, but I shouldn't be here."

We are lulled into a stupor, but no one thinks they are spiritually asleep.

Story 1: Every Monday morning, a man meets his friend all beat up, because every Saturday night he gets mugged at a club. When the friend asks, "Why do you go there?" the man replies, "because I receive an invitation every Friday."

Story 2: A personnel manager wonders why a new employee who was upbeat and positive when hired has become negative and morose. She goes into the woman's office and discovers that the view she looks at every day is ugly and depressing.

Story 3: Some men at a factory complain to the foreman, "Why does Bill get to go home every day at 3 pm, and we don't leave 'til 4pm. It's not fair!" The foreman replies,
"What you don't make a mess of you don't have to clean up later."

Who's sending the invitations is the same one who's doing the mugging. The woman didn't "see" what she was seeing. Bill saw to things so he didn't have to clean up later.

To whom do my eyes belong? Me. We don't know that our minds look at things all day long. To think requires the mind look at thoughts. It isolates us from everything else.
The thought is not the thinker, or the person thought about. This thought nature turns on itself. It stimulates itself.

The experience is the residue of the moment past. The self lost in thought is not you. You must be more aware of what is put before you. My life is a derivation of my mind. Make an aim to bring yourself back.
