It seems like every time I become associated with a church, it is not long before I feel mistreated by those who do not agree with the way I express myself. It seems so hypocritical of "spiritual" people to judge me.
Answer:
There is only one (impassable) mountain in your life, and it's the person by your name. Haven't you ever wondered why it's always there, rising before you in those moments where you feel slighted or otherwise disrespected?
Everything, everyone we meet reveals us to ourselves -- nothing more, nothing less. This great truth, by the way, is exactly why Christ admonished his disciples: "If thine eye offend thee, pluck it out." It is the perceiver that punishes, not the perceived -- even if the perceived seems to be set against you. Only one thing bars our way from the Kingdom, and that's our certainty we know the way in.
