Perfect Faith Begins Where False Certainty Ends

"Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?" -- New Testament. There is no peace through thought.

The pursuit of peace through thought is actually the prescription for uncertainty.

Presently our faith is in the fear that promises freedom whenever what we call our freedom is challenged.

When the mind is unconsciously chewing on something, it is trying to re-establish the peace and security that has been threatened.

The mind is disturbed by its own thoughts, and then uses thought to try to reconcile the disturbance. The divided mind sets out to free itself from what it has chained itself to.

The unconscious mind is always in a posture of defending what it knows against the reality of the moment.

Everything you cling to in order to maintain your sense of certainty... is the very source of your uncertainty.

Real security cannot be taken from you. There is a certainty that cannot be threatened. If it feels as if your security is being threatened, you may be sure that it is a false sense of security.

Fear of uncertainty appears because of the certainty that you are identified with.

The mind looks at the moment and then labels it as being either for or against you; either the moment is great, or it is terrible.

The mind is always looking for a place to anchor itself so that it can withstand the tides of life. It is not intended to withstand the tides. It is intended to flow with them.

We all suffer from a case of psychotic conviction that we are immortal. Along with that certainty comes the fear of anything that interferes with it.

Psychological planning is the attempt to secure a future in the image of the self that is planning it. In that world of planning there cannot be gratitude.

There is instantaneous resistance when reality inevitably differs from imagination. That resistance is compelled to change the world to conform with the imagination and restore certainty.

Death for us presently is the end of our certainty. Fear and certainty do not know what death is.

An imagined heaven will always be disturbed.

Real certainty is found through bearing uncertainty without going along with the compulsion to restore imagined certainty, peace and security. Learn what it means to stay with the nature that is uncomfortable.

Stop trying to DO something about uncertainty, and instead SEE something about it. See if a revelation is possible where you are certain that none exists.
