We are filled with tension, as tight as can be and out of that comes the picture of what we need to do to get rid of that field of tension. For instance, no one moves fast enough for me, and where is my attention while waiting for them? It is on what I believe is producing the tension and what I need to do to get rid of it. But the promise to relieve the pressure is an extension of the pressure and there is no way it can ever be rid of that pain. This is the circle of self, going round and round and spiraling down.
There is no such thing as tension without the opposites. In nature, everything finds a balance in the opposites. Only in humans is the tension destructive, creating psychotic opposites. Examples are, What I am vs. What I want to be?, and ?Where I am vs. ?Where I want to get to?. These opposites make me an unpleasant human being, asleep to myself, feeling pressure and immense resistance. I believe the pressure is due to what stands between me and what I want. Actually, these things stand between me and an image of where I need to get to get rid of the tension and pain set in place in the first place by the opposites. My mind is then completely on the event frustrating me, blaming circumstances outside of myself.
However, inside of the exact same opposites exists a completely different promise. When life changes, as it must, there is negative anticipation, which turns into negative imagination. The world changed, creating pressure. Then the pressure creates a reason for the pressure and how to resolve it. Instead of negative anticipation, use positive attention. When you feel the tension, don’t let the mind place attention on what it says is the problem. The mind is the problem, delivered into the hands of its enemy. Instead, place your attention on what you are able to do, not unable to do. This is a different order of existence.
The way to change your life is not to wait, but to meditate. Take your attention and place it on what is possible to be done, remember God, watch the mind, the breathing, and the body. Never again have a moment of waiting. Instead, work, become conscious and slow down. Remember who your friends are and what is possible. Use the pressure for the purpose itwas created for, to transform you.
