- True teachings are not intended to console the listener. They are intended to produce new insights that change the consciousness of those who allow the truth to act in them.

- What you identify with is not the solution to your suffering. Identification is the cause of your suffering.
- Real morality is without judgment and therefore infinite in its patience.
- Without knowing it, what we commonly call our life is a form of death.
- Ambition cannot bring an end to fear. The end of ambition would be the end of the cause of it. Ambition is fueled by the fear of being nothing. The end of ambition can never come about through what ambition seeks to gain.
- We are always seeking to become something in order to reach the destination that has been imagined will bring peace. The more we identify with what we believe we must become, the greater the fear.
- The more a person measures what he or she has gained, the greater the fear of loss.
- Our sense of self has no existence apart from the images that it clings to. The false sense of self is sustained by the fear of its own disappearance.
- It is fear itself that tries to acquire what it thinks it must have in order to find freedom from fear.
- Stop going to the well of thought to slake your fear of death by filling yourself with more empty promises. By that process you will begin to shatter the bonds of fear.
- See that any thought or action that comes out of resistance is the protection and continuation of something that is preserving its life at the cost of your own.
