The only thing that sleeping human beings see are the reasons -- outside of themselves -- for their anxiety, anger, fear and negativity.

It seems mandatory to have enemies because that nature feels as though everyone and everything is pressing-in on it.

What we presently call love is dependent upon outside conditions giving us what we want.

The real golden rule is: Don't do to others what you don't want done to you.

YOU are the first to experience the pain that you want to inflict upon another human being.

The more you think about other human beings, the more you suffer from your own thoughts.

It is not your job to fix any other human being. And it's not your job to fix yourself, either.

The more attention that you give to the pain of an unwanted experience, the more the pain escalates.

You will never be free of another human being as long as you resist them, because resistance is fixation.

Something in us believes that the capacity to judge ourselves proves that we are nothing like what we are judging.

You can't know anything true about others until you know the truth of yourself.

Everyone in the world is trying to extract the same things out of other people: consolation and confirmation.

To "love your enemy" is to understand through direct observation that the suffering of another is the same as the suffering in you.

The way to innocence is to see your identification with the parts in you that are not innocent, including that which always blames something outside of itself for its pain.

The pain that you want to leave in the past is the source of your present suffering, because that pain tells you that there will be a time to come where you won't be in pain anymore.

"Vengeance is mine saith the Lord" means that perfect justice is being meted out every moment, because every person's nature IS the life they experience.
