Question:

My father just passed away, and after fifty years of marriage to someone who was significantly dependent on her, my mother is struggling to find her purpose. I'm doing well thanks to Truth teachings. I've shared them with her when I felt it might assist, and she has responded. Any words you might have for her would be welcome.

Answer:

Every moment has within its turning the possibilities of two things: we can be turned by that moment to face whatever our old nature tells us the moment means -- usually leaving us confined by the way our old nature defines the event through what it has known in the past -- or we can choose, as consciously as possible, to turn and face the "new," the dawning of what has no past, and "wait" there, often in the "dark," for the dawning of a whole new self-understanding.

Please meditate on this idea before you speak of it with your mother, so that it is clear to you what I wish to convey to her. All is and will be well as long as we always remember that we are never out of the Light unless we face the wrong direction. This is important for all of us to remember, all the time... and especially when we are tested.
