As I trust you will understand, it would be entirely inappropriate for me to guide such a personal decision as you have to face in your career. That said, I will offer you a few ideas... in the hope that they can help you clarify your own thoughts and feelings and come to a satisfactory decision... whatever that may be.

While it's nice to have a "job" in this life that is 100% satisfying, I don't think that such a thing exists... at least in my experience. I've never met or known anyone who loved anything that they had to do in life 24/7. In all honesty, it is a fantasy that a person can find some role or place in life where they are completely content all of the time. That isn't to say that we can't find some task - something that we do full-time with our lives - that we know is not just the right thing for us to do, but rather it is that for which we are created. When one has that kind of task... then whatever the nature of some naturally alternating dissatisfaction may appear, it is understood as exactly that: a temporary unhappiness that will soon be dispelled by the greater contentment of one's chosen path through life.

I say these things to you that you might try to look at what you're going through with the mindset that, instead of seeking what one part of you promises is a place of endless contentment, you try to see it with the new understanding that learning to use one's discontent - transcending it - is perhaps as vital if not more vital than anything else.

Again, these few thoughts are not to convince or otherwise dissuade you from taking any particular path... only to help you perceive that there are many factors in one's discontentment, and that without being able to shed light upon that nature - that seems to find some darkness (inevitably) wherever it goes - that (because of it) we will find ourselves in the dark again... even on the "sunny side of the hill."
