"Stop Doing What's Useless"

In any moment of disturbance, the default action of the mind is to hand you something that is useless: something that can only intensify the disturbance. When we act from a negative state (are anxious, resentful, angry, rushing, etc.), we are unconsciously agreeing to continue the very state we are resisting. We've temporarily lost the ability to discern what is useless from what is useful.

Stop doing what is useless. Practice discerning what is USEFUL from what is USELESS. You don't use a hammer to repair a broken teapot. When you feel the presence of a negative state, come to a complete stop. Examine what the mind is handing to you, instead of blindly agreeing to what is being handed to you.
