Creation

There is one essential reason why there is so much constant heartache and war on this earth, and why conflict has continued as it has down through the ages. The answer may surprise you. We do not understand the nature of our own pain -- our suffering. Billions of us live with almost no understanding of how much hurt lies hidden in our hearts and minds; in this case, ignorance is not bliss.

We are made in the image of the Divine. Now, that doesn't mean all that we hope it means. It actually means more than that! It means that you and I, as humans, exist in a temporal form that is, for all intents and purposes, a place where a host of magnificent laws and forces converge. Opposing forces reconcile and create a body that is essentially the mirror of a set of perfect opposites -- right hand, left hand, right eye, left eye.

What is this power that can show us the truth behind the mystery of who and what we are - even as it gives us everything we need to know? A few examples from the history of human discovery prove helpful in our inquiry...

In this short talk, "letting go" author Guy Finley talks about how creation is not complete without our awareness of it. When we surrender the fearful self that never stops pursuing what it wants, what we receive in exchange is this higher awareness of being an essential part of creation. Then we are participating in something timeless, where fear, hatred, anxiety, and doubt cannot dwell.

Would you like to make the most out of every moment of your life? If we want to make the most out of every moment of our life, we have to let every moment in our life touch us. We have to learn to listen to it, to receive it. If we want to be lifted by it, we have to let it hold us. But instead of being touched by moments, we're touched by thought. We're touched by irritation...

Topics covered:  A key does not do any good if it stays in your pocket and if you don't put in the lock and turn it. Likewise, if you don't prove true spiritual ideas for yourself, then the ideas can become worse than useless; What is the one thing that never comes to your mind when you find yourself in a negative state?... That you could actually be interested in what you have no interest in. Our interest is usually in what we have to do in order to escape from the negativity; We are not rightly interested in our suffering. We are wrongly interested in what to do about it. What would happen if we could actually be interested in what we usually have no interest in?

Learn to be still and listen: the less you have to say about life, the more Life will speak to you, and start telling you things that ears can't hear.

Remastered Classic Talk: 10/19/16 - Best keep your eye on the interior life; let it be first and foremost. If the direction of outer life interferes with the awareness of the inner, follow the inner. Better they marry, but never allow what is outer to have precedence over the inner... and should this be so, if you're not yet able to do otherwise, then let this (state) be as a sorrow to you until, from out of it, comes the discipline needed to put first things first.
