What if you actually understood there is no death? Think for a moment what your life would be like. And I'm not just talking about the incessant human fear of their mortality. I'm talking about those moments in which it feels like you're dying because something has happened to you that you don't like, and how you struggle to keep alive the very thing caught in that crisis -- that nature struggling, suffering instead of understanding that the moment has come about to produce a completely different understanding of yourself in relationship to the moment.
That's what this talk is about. And that's what all the great teachings have always been about. Because the summary of all true religious teachings that reconnect you with the indwelling divine is that as a human being, you have the capacity -- according to your willingness -- to exchange your life, to give up what you presently take as being your life, for a life that is given to you (in part) to show you that something that you have been calling yourself has actually been taking your life from you. To the thinking mind it is incomprehensible, but not to the seeing mind -- not to the part of you capable of understanding these things.
And when, because you have been willing to do the work to make yourselves aware of it -- that you do not exist apart from the world you see, from your brother and sister, or from the revelations that you're given every moment about your own consciousness -- all else becomes a distraction. You can't be dragged off anymore. You can't be drawn into the consideration of something that's challenging your idea of who and what you are and what you're supposed to do. You can't be sucked into suffering over what you don't want to be or how you should be otherwise. Because in the very moment of what is actually an act of love, you're being changed from what you saw the moment before. What you are aware of is within you. What is within you is changed by the light that shows it to you.
Then you can begin to understand there is no death for the true awakened human being, for your soul. There is just dying daily, moment to moment. So that in the willingness to receive the revelation, you're released from the unconscious identification with a level of self that ensures its continuation if you're not present to its appearance. And then let the whole thing be folded into a light that changes you, the world, and everything in this universe accordingly.
