Darkness

Remastered Classic Talk: 12/21/16 - The Kingdom of Heaven -- the True Self for which we seek -- dwells within us, and above us at the same time. To sense this as true, even in the smallest way, is an invitation and an instruction, all at once. For not only must we know "where" these Divine forces meet and marry within us, but that we must also develop the attention we need to be able to stand "there"...in the midst of their eternal convergence.

Student Talks: 11/07/2025 -Here is a great spiritual paradox: none can hope to know the truth of their Divine Individuality until they have realized their all-inclusive similarity with everyone they meet.

It is a celestial Law: whatever we resist, we cannot overcome. But there is a still greater Divine Law that the Light that creates shadows is empowered -- before their time began -- to transform and dispel them.

Student Talks: 9/12/2025 - All anxious resistance to what "might be" is the avoidance of what is.

Topics covered:  Within us already lives a nature that does not have to resolve problems because it is problem-free to begin with; True teachings are intended to awaken a new kind of effort in us, and to expose the wrong kind of effort; Doing is downstream from being, and sorrow is the inevitable result of living from a nature that is out of order, and not in harmony with the broader life.

Remastered Classic Talk: 8/24/16 - Spiritual wisdom is our greatest wealth and, as we realize the truth of this -- so that true self-knowledge becomes our single greatest wish in life -- each moment of every one of our relationships serves as the secret path to the summit of ourselves.

Topics covered:  "This world does not treasure the truth. The world treasures approval from others. It treasures appearances; There is another kind of development that is possible for you -- that the world knows nothing about -- in which it is possible for you to discover another order of being that alrady dwells within you."

Student Talks: 05/23/2025 - There is no circumstance in our life -- immediate, or seemingly inescapable -- that isn't perfectly suited to help us change the way we see, understand, and ultimately transcend not just the troubled, or otherwise painful moments in our life, but the dark nature (within us) responsible for their reappearance.

Topics covered:  If we all wore t-shirts that described our inner lives, they would say "Out of Order: Proceed with Caution;" The great unspoken assumption behind all of our unrest is the certainty that what is happening should not be happening; Everyone and everything challenges the order that we have established. And anything or anyone that is out of order must be put back into order so that all will be well again, in a time to come.

Let every search for a solution to the suffering you feel begin in the unlit corners of your own consciousness, and soon you will never again wonder "why" you feel the worries, fear, and the bitterness that you do.

Student Talks: 3/14/2025 - We can't change others – or, for that matter, the purpose of any given moment as it unfolds – but we can work to place one less demand on both. Only in this action can we hope to find the freedom for which we seek, because the only thing that imprisons us – in the end – is our resistance to whatever runs against our deeply seated demands.

Topics covered:  For things to change, familiar reactions need to be met with something different than what you usually meet them with. You are going to have to meet the moment with something that does not repeat itself; You are going to have to change that moment as you enter into it, not after it has happened; The Divine junction is the place where the Will of Heaven touches the will of earth.
