If the sky were empty, birds couldn't fly through it. The only way to know the fullness of the nothingness you fear is to launch yourself into it.
Do this enough times, and soon you will start to feel -- and know -- the presence of a timeless stillness that binds all things together. And though it touches nothing, and nothing touches it, still it connects all that moves through it.
In this vital "nothingness" lives everything, including you. This higher self-knowledge, once realized, ends the fear of being "nothing." Which means, at last, you've found something real!
What we call the present moment, including all that appears within it, is actually a timeless Presence; it is not the outcome of the past or a door to some imagined future. Passing time is just one of the ways in which what is always present appears, but this movement of time no more defines or confines this Presence than does the rising and setting of the sun change the nature of light.
