Seeking fulfillment,
It empties itself.

Seeking control,
It abandons itself.

Seeking security,
It frightens itself.

Seeking relationship,
It betrays itself.

Seeking importance,
It compromises itself.

Seeking judgment,
It condemns itself.

Seeking resolution,
It frustrates itself.

Seeking continuity,
It divides itself.

Seeking itself,
It loses itself.

This is the self
That opposes itself.
