There is no thought, no memory from the past that of itself can cause us pain; the only reason we suffer for their appearance is because we don't want to relive the unwanted experience they remind us of...
Only by awakening to the ineffectiveness of our past actions, and to our present level of understanding that gives rise to the same, does it become possible for us to realize -- and rise above -- the limitations inherent in who and what we have been up until now.
We can't really say that we have learned from our mistakes until we have seen the one great error that follows us through time: the only thing that judges us is our present nature, and not what we may have done in days now past.

Classroom Talk: 7/21/2021 - Part 1: Real life is not about what's coming; nor is real life about what has been: (it is) a timeless kingdom between the realm of "what was" and "will be." One of our greatest, least understood sorrows in this life, the root cause of an uninspired life, is that -- given our present level of being -- we have no other place to explore besides the valley of thought: an unconscious realm where the shadows of things that were hide their emptiness by changing their shape to look like a time to come -- just ahead -- when, at long last, we will reach the time and place where our struggles with life are at last behind us!
