The true purpose of any troublesome "mountain" that seems to appear out of nowhere -- standing directly between us and what we want -- isn't to make us into better climbers, or even to somehow claim its summit; such barriers exist for a single reason: to help us see that no impassable "mountain" exists apart from the unconscious mind that creates it.

Any weakness we may harbor in our present character persists only because we have yet to see how its presence compromises our happiness, but a growing awareness of this interior shakiness changes everything. Our awakening stirs within us a Celestial Character created for the purpose of transforming the soul's stumbling stones into the building blocks of a whole new unshakable Self.

Once we realize there is nothing to be gained by talking to ourselves about our own lives, or about what others may have done to us, then we stand on the threshold of a New Order of Mind capable of hearing what the Heavens wish us to know, and that converses with Celestial Forces whose only purpose is to see to our contentment.

If we’re still talking to ourselves about some past, painful, unwanted moment -- justifying, revisiting, or analyzing it -- we can be sure the invisible, Divine purpose of that moment was not fulfilled. And this insight, for those with “eyes to see,” reveals a deeper truth: if the lesson remains unrealized, then so does our reason for having incarnated the forces responsible for its revelation...

In truth, who we really are is not something we can "know," let alone keep... any more than a raindrop can know that its mother is some great distant sea and, for this knowledge, remain there safely between its shores.
