Can you explain to me about forgiveness? Is forgiveness (and "making amends") something that I (a recovering addict) need to address? It seems silly to think I need to drag up every person from my past that I did something hurtful to. But what about those BIG relationships as in family? Will forgiveness and amends help in the healing of me?...
I am bogged down in a financial and personal morass, created by extremely poor decisions and excesses in the past. I fear that the whole mess makes it impossible now to absorb and realize the truths that can transform my life. I feel there is just too much damage, and my life will be forever marked by my mistakes. (From student correspondence)...
If you see something someone else is doing, whether professional or personal, and it involves you and you know it's not right (and the person that is doing the wrong definitely knows it isn't right), should something be said, or should you just wait because sooner of later things always have a way of working out for the best? (From student correspondence)...
Dear Guy: I play jazz guitar and sing professionally. After reading "The Secret of Letting Go," I'm beginning to see the light (name of an old Nat Cole song). Performing used to feel a lot more subjective than it did after reading your book. How can Letting Go help one to perform in public with less stress and anxiety? Thanks! (Student correspondence, 12/5/07)...
With all the unrest in the world and Christians who talk about end times, I have to admit that I am very concerned about what is in store for the world, our country, and for my family. I believe in God and I don't want to live my life worrying. I do believe that one day we will all be in heaven and in peace; it is just the process of getting there that scares me!...
I often feel angry when my colleagues make fun of me in front of others. I know you would say to watch the one within who is angry, or be aware of the anger, etc., but this simply doesn't work for me... it feels more correct to scold them instead, but I still don't get peace. It feels as if I am making more enemies, and the anger still continues in my heart. Please help!...
In the course of my job as a rural mail carrier, I have witnessed much cruelty toward our animal friends. I understand from your talks the opposites and how they must be balanced by nature. If all is good and God is love, how am I to respond to my inner world of darkness, judgment, and conflict concerning the animals I meet on my path? I want to do the highest action possible.
