All acts of impatience serve to secretly deflect the one critical revelation that as long as we meet life with any unseen demand, we can't help but be painfully remanded into the hands of one of these two self-punishing states: anger or frustration. They are the bridesmaids of any desire thwarted....
Classroom Talk: 8/1/2003 - The difference between being angry with ourselves, or at someone else, is found only in the image held in our mind at which we lash out. Either way, the effect of this unconscious fire in us is always the same: It is we who get burned!
The pressure behind the momentum inherent in any imaginary "train of thought" is never really obvious until reality "interferes" with, or derails that train. These collisions -- and the prerequisite "end of the line" for the self that is identified with its imagined destination -- are usually expressed in fits of anger, fear, disbelief, or depression.
Nothing we blame for the pain of our anger, anxiety, or fear can ever change their real cause.
