Exercise: When you begin to feel pain over something, become conscious of the nature that is suffering and what it is suffering over. Work to 'put on the coat' so that you can begin to change your relationship to the suffering. Agree to consciously suffer for who you are becoming, not for who you have been or hope to be, because you understand your suffering is meant to transform you.
