The True Meaning of Let Go and Let God (Blog)

Let Go and Let God doesn't mean that I'm going to let God handle a problem so that I come out on the other side smelling like a rose. It doesn’t mean that I'm going to surrender in order to win.

God is the all-pervasive, all-interpenetrating, all-converging set of principles, powers and forces that oversee the fact that everything is continually changing and being remade in the image of that which made it. And Let Go and Let God means I’m going to let go by going through a transformation that takes place when and as I agree to consciously die to who and what I've been. I will let Life do with me and to me what it will for my higher transformation, instead of complaining about what I don't want and remaining stuck in not wanting it.

Lost in the Land of Becoming (Blog)

No one arrives anywhere real in the “Land of Becoming” because it exists only in the “State of Imagination”...

...a false, but dynamic realm governed by the “Prince of Duality” who, though already overthrown, remains the dark power that oversees the lost “Kingdom of the Divided Mind.”

Where There Is Love There Is No Death (Blog)

Though difficult to see because of our social and religious conditioning that compels us to seek security outside of us, in a time to come, or in some god that’s imagined dwelling somewhere above us, nevertheless, it is possible to awaken from this dream and realize the truth that sets us free:

The Peace we seek is not separate from what we are already created to be: a silent witness to a Timeless Kingdom that is always, and forever being made New. Awakening to see this Divine possibility as it unfolds within us -- and we within it -- grants us, as follows, the glimpse of an order of liberation beyond imagination:

We are created to be the incarnation of a ceaseless Divine relationship wherein, for the sacrifice of self it requires, we realize the truth that sets us free: Where there is Love, there is no death.

A Startling Truth About Forgiveness (Blog)

Why can’t we forgive people? Why do we remain chained to that pain? It’s because “I want to know why you did what you did,” and so I keep revisiting the offense in my mind. Let’s say my ex-spouse or a friend hurt me. Later, something happened and they changed. But I don’t see anything other than the image my mind made of them at the time they hurt me. That mind revisits and re-experiences the content of the image it made. So when I look at you, I’m not looking at you. I’m looking at the image my mind made of you back then, with all its tumult, trouble, sorrow, and pain.  And every time I revisit that image, I fix it even more firmly. The consciousness that revisits it not only makes that image stronger and more definitive, but it strengthens its relationship with it, so it takes less and less to re-experience the feeling of being a captive of that circumstance.

We’re chained to a consciousness that can’t see what it does to itself every time it looks at an image it has created, and then resists. I react to and despise something in me I can’t see that wants to keep reliving the pain in a circle of self-induced suffering.

There Is No One Who Needs to Be Saved (Blog)

What happens in an unwanted moment? Just like that, in a split second, we look for a savior.

Now, you may say, “what’s wrong with that? What’s wrong with looking to a savior like Jesus, or Buddha?”

What we don’t understand is that the savior we look for is a thought about a savior. And the condition that produces the need to be saved is the illicit manifestation of a consciousness that is fully identified with conditions outside of it, and then believes it NEEDS a God outside of it to save it from that condition.

The thought that we need to find a savior in order to stop feeling overwhelmed belongs to a consciousness that is responsible FOR being overwhelmed. And anything I turn to in order to save me, confirms in the moment that there’s someone here by my name that needs to be saved. And that’s the lie. Every true religion confirms the same truth over and over again: there is no separate self.

Find the Real Meaning in the Moment (Blog)

Life is an open-ended experience of meaning.  So, why isn’t it like that for us now?  Why isn’t this moment in my life as rich as every other moment?  It’s because if one moment becomes more meaningful to us than another, in that split second, we become identified with the content, the condition of that moment, and we want more of that. But wanting more of what we experienced before shuts us out of the moment we’re experiencing now. We’re looking to double-down on a previous meaning.  But meaning never repeats itself.

The Work of Awakened Waiting (Blog)

Every cell in our body “waits” for the life-giving oxygen that must be replaced within it... moment by moment... though it cannot “know” what it waits on.

All flowers, each tree, “wait” for the sunlight they need to nourish themselves, though none “know” they wait on these celestial energies to nourish and sustain their life.

In much the same way, every human soul... waits on Love; but the truth of these thoughts stands barren without understanding the following:

Neither the cell, flower, nor the tree creates its own need. This longing is there before any creature takes form, finding itself already filled with a need it cannot, of itself, answer.

And so it is true of the soul: it too waits for what it needs to flower, openly embracing an ordained longing that -- like the sun, and its light -- is cause and effect at once. In the gradual realization of this understanding rests true faith... our “hope in things unseen.”

Learn to Think for Yourself (Blog)

If you don't know what thought is, you can't possibly know how to think.

If you can't think for yourself, your mind will gravitate to, and then identify with the thoughts of someone else.

When you continue to identify with the thoughts of others, it's only a matter of time until their thinking becomes the foundation of your own.

And, as how you think becomes reliant on the thoughts of others, an unseen -- ultimately destructive -- form of dependency creeps into your mind, corrupting it.

Gradually, so slow as to be unnoticed, the mind begins to die because -- like a fruiting branch separated from its founding vine -- it has been cut off from its fertile connection with a Divine intelligence designed to develop its innate perfection.

4 Exercises to Remember and Work In Deed (Blog)

    1. Work -- IN DEED -- to drop any negative reaction. HOW? Instead of being the passive instrument of a dark state, REMEMBER to be the active, impersonal observer of it... the sacrifice of our will and its familiar suffering so that we might embody a new Will that can’t act against itself.
    2. Honor the teaching moment when it comes and you’re given a glimpse, an insight into a new, higher understanding. HOW? Work in that moment -- IN DEED -- to deepen and strengthen the glimpse. REMEMBER your first and most important task is to work in the garden of the revelation, come rain or shine.
    3. REMEMBER in any trial or unwanted moment: your aim is to test the reality of any resistance you may feel to that moment. HOW? Work -- IN DEED -- to at least attempt to take one step past what you are sure is the end of what you can do. The way out is through. Find out!
    4. Practice conscious patience with what you see in others, and in yourself. HOW? Work -- IN DEED -- to REMEMBER your first obligation: before you blame anything for your negative reaction, bring it -- consciously -- into awareness of yourself... that you might suffer yourself before you pain another.

The Invisible Bridge of Being (Blog)

All kingdoms, along with their creations -- from the starry universe, down to the smallest of all realms -- are connected. They are inseparable, just as is the ocean from its currents and the waves they create... including the tiniest droplet of sea-spray that collects on a rocky shore. And the same holds true for all the creatures that inhabit these worlds...

...Where the ever-descending will of the Highest acts upon each successive level just beneath it, so that through their union something new is always coming into existence to span the distance and difference between them... allowing those energies to continue their journey, uninterrupted, into and through each consecutive level below.

Seen as a whole, this celestial relationship represents in effect, an invisible Bridge of Being, and all that exists is sustained by this creative current as it carries out its ceaseless rounds.

The Kingdom of Heaven is realized as we awaken to realize, consciously, that we are not just a specialized link in this Divine Bridge, but that all that it is runs through us; and that the fulfillment of our true purpose on this planet is to play our unique role in its timeless maintenance.
