Part 1: Humility comes only with our capacity to feel our own nothingness and, at the same time, to feel all that we are given to be.

Part 2: It's impossible to feel real life and to fear it at the same time.

Topics covered: The mind is forever trying to find a way to escape from the prison that it is constructing; Is there any other way to respond to a negative reaction other than to identify with, and then act out its choices... only to react again to the inescapable result of the choice we have made, and in whose promise we've become identified? What if its choices are not ours?; We go into thought in order to get out of the unwanted condition, when thinking itself IS the condition.

Remastered Classic Talk: 9/02/15 - We are convinced that if there's anything lacking in us, then the answer must be to acquire it, as has always been our go-to solution when suffering over some discontent. But as long as our hope for contentment is remanded over to a search for something outside of ourselves, we will never see the fact that this discontent is inseparable from our present level of self, let alone come to understand that the only solution for it rests therein... In the last place we would think to search for it.

Remastered Classic Talk: 07/13/16 - The false self, ever-pursuing or struggling to protect the dream of its imagined sense of importance, doesn't care who or what it picks a fight with; all that matters to this divided self is that it finds someone or something to be against, as this is how it validates its insatiable need to feel significant; (it is) the absence of love, incapable of humility, compassion, or remorse.

Student Talks: 06/27/2025 - No seed -- whether a kernel of corn, or a special talent -- can prove itself any more valuable than the sweat it takes to sow it, cultivate & nourish it until it offers up its latent Good. In much the same way, the soul is a seed; relationships are its ground; and what grows when all is properly cared for... is unconditional Love.

Student Talks: 05/2/2025 - For us, death – even as we “learn to live” in its fearsome shadow – seems to mark the end of all that we have known; a looming “last show” when the theatre will be closed, and the final curtain drawn. But, there is another kind of death; and it is the end of fear: rebirth realized in the voluntary sacrifice, and concurrent death of the “knower”.

Remastered Classic Talk: 3/16/16 - All of our relationships, in particular the one we have with those we love, exist for a dual purpose, along with its great promise: first, most of us understand that our partner in life is there to help us grow, to awaken and stir in us, accordingly, an awareness of love's highest possibilities. But the other -- and equally important half of this same purpose and promise -- without which the first part can't succeed -- is as follows: our partner in life is also there to help us see everything in us that now stands in the way of our coming to realize this same higher love.

Stop believing that it is other people and circumstances that make life hard on you; We go to war with people whenever they deny us something that we think we are owed; Do your solutions bring an end to having enemies? If they did, the world would have stopped making war long ago.

Topics covered:  You can't know with your mind what is calling you to make the interior journey that saints and sages have spoken about; "Out beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing there is a field. I’ll meet you there." -- Jalal al-Din Rumi -- "For he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." -- New Testament -- These two passages are essentially saying the same thing; Part of the interior journey is to enter into another order of being that allows for the opposites to pass through its field of awareness, but is never defined by those opposites.

Classroom Talk: 12/11/2024 - There is no greater power for healing than the love of what is True; by its light we see and discover that every moment of our life bears a message just for us, and that if we will attend to that lesson, as honestly as we can, we are that much freer than the moment before. Persist with your wish to know the truth of yourself; use everything, and everything will serve your wish.
