The emphasis on learning to "see" -- to work at being watchful -- is not to acquire power to resolve our disturbances; it is the way through which we end of the illusion of either having power, or of needing it.

It is the things we think ourselves to be that cause heartache and pain, for there is no such sorrow in the still whole depths of who we really are.

In this life, due to the great and compassionate Intelligence that governs it, not one thing is wasted . . . and this includes, once we come to realize our own foolishness, even those moments of our lives we have unknowingly thrown away.

Part 1: Until our journey through life is seen as being our true destination, we cannot hope to realize the secret of the Timeless Traveler within us who, though always moving, never departs himself. Part 2: Until we can be content wherever we are, and with whatever we may be doing, then there can be no place else on earth for us that has the power to grant us the peace imagined in being there.
