Every creature in nature has work that nature has given them to do. They must do this work in order to survive. They have no choice, and their work doesn't end until their bodies pass. There is no stress or fear in what they are given to do. We as human beings also have work that we have been asked to do in this world, both practical and for the sake of spirit.

All psychological fear is born out of our unseen relationship with a lower level of consciousness that fears the death of whatever sense of "self" it first imagines into existence. It is our unconscious identification with its fear of dying that maintains its fear-ridden "life." To see the truth of our collusion with this lower nature is the same as being liberated from it...

Whoever doesn't know the truth of himself, suffers uselessly for the sake of ignorance. Whoever works to know the truth of Self, agrees to suffer ignorance for the sake of Wisdom. Becoming wise, he "slays" the lower self, as well as its suffering.
