Inner joy can't be separated from a deep sense of gratitude inseparable from a mind at peace with itself; it knows, without thought, that everything is in its right place -- being revealed at the right time -- even in unwanted moments when inconsolable parts of us would have us believe otherwise.
Our spiritual possibilities in this life are as endless as is our willingness to intentionally meet, and then consciously work through whatever limitations we may discover along the Way.
Real life is not a “win or lose” proposition, but rather (it is) a Divinely ordained, ceaseless process of discovering new possibilities already within us... that wait to be realized on the other side of our unconscious resistance to them.
The more we dwell on something in our life that we wish wasn’t so, the more we soak ourselves in negative energies created by our own resistance. The longer we soak, the more we suffer; the more we suffer, the more we resist what seems to be the unwanted event when, in truth, what we are really drowning in... are the dark dreams of our own sleeping consciousness.
Trying to bury any kind of pain is like believing that we can escape an unwanted moment by simply closing our eyes.
Blame is the deflection of pain. Pain deflected is subtle misdirection. Misdirected pain makes circles. Circular pain returns. Break the circle of blame. Start healing.
Any pain we will face is soon erased... but only as we act to bring it into the Light of a higher awareness that fears nothing: the presence of Divine Intelligence that sees through, and then dissolves any form of psychological suffering that comes to darken our day.
It is inevitable, but nevertheless a truth seldom realized... until too late: any troubled thought that circulates through an unattended mind will eventually run into the outstretched arms of the very suffering it’s trying to escape!
Here’s a great paradox, and anyone who can solve its mystery stands on the threshold of self-liberation: the only reason any of our troubles linger is because we’ve yet to illuminate the in-the-dark parts of us that keep looking for them!
To see that what makes unwanted moments feel so important to us can’t be separated from a powerful, but false sense of self provided by these same painful feelings... begins the process of separating ourselves from an unconscious self that doesn’t care what it feels as long as that stress, anger, or fear supports its insatiable need to feel important.
We must make -- and keep -- a special place within us for what we love; otherwise, our heart becomes an overnight motel filled with the visitations of a thousand fickle lovers... not one of which is capable of loving anything other than itself.
It is impossible to know that anything is alive... until we are.
Every wise saying that stirs the heart, or helps illuminate the mind, is a kind of Divine seed: each speaks in its own tongue of some timeless chapter and verse, but always hinting of -- and silently pointing to -- the Book of Truth from which it has come.
Wisdom never gets old because its true nature is timeless; knowledge is already old, because it is a creation of time.
